Vintrigue is owned and operated by Kevin Toomajian.
Kevin's expertise in wine consulting is a result of his extensive experience with the three major aspects of the wine industry: Restaurants, Wineries and Distributorships.
Kevin got his start at the famed Bella Vista Restaurant in the Lakeview District of Downtown Chicago. There he worked as the Wine Buyer and Sommelier, managing a predominantly Italian, 400 label wine list. Wine sales reached their peak as Kevin focused on remodeling the wine list and motivating the staff through creative wine education. At Bella Vista, Kevin orchestrated many successful winemaker dinners with over 100 guests attending each event.
After Chicago, Kevin set out to the Napa Valley to immerse himself in one of the renowned wine producing regions on the globe. There, he joined Robert Mondavi Winery as the Manager of the Tour Department. At Mondavi, Kevin managed 30 wine educators and oversaw an operation that included up to 45 tours and 1,000 visitors in one business day. The tour program generated over one million dollars in revenue. In addition, Kevin educated restaurateurs, distributors and private individuals about all aspects of the industry.
Looking for his next challenge, Kevin signed on as the Director of Visitor Center Operations at Darioush Winery in Napa. Kevin directed a hospitality team in the grand opening of a 22,000 square foot visitor center and winery, building an entire hospitality program from the ground up. Kevin was responsible for all aspects of the Visitor Center, including the Tasting Room, Tour Program, Staff Education, Concierge Service, Merchandising and Property Maintenance. Kevin also held the position of Director of Trade Relations at Darioush where he traveled the country to work with distributors and hosted winemaker dinners at some of the nation's top restaurants.
Kevin received the Level 3 Advanced Certificate from the London based Wine & Spirits Education Trust, where he graduated "with distinction." In addition, he has passed the 1st level exam of the Guild of Master Sommeliers. Kevin is a member of the Society of Wine Educators.
